Smooth, level concrete bases for basketball, pickleball and multi-sport courts, with drainage and finishes ready for coating.
A backyard court is a gathering place, and the base under it decides how good it feels. Balls bounce true on a flat, uniform surface, and puddles, bumps and cracks ruin it. Courts need to be level enough for play but have a slight slope for drainage, and they need a surface that can take sport coatings. In a Nashville yard, with clay soil and a bit of a slope, a quality court base takes planning and good grading.
We lay out the court size for your sport, from a half-court to a full pickleball or multi-use court, and plan the surrounding apron. The site is graded and compacted, a stone base is added and the slab is formed with a precise slope, generally about one percent in a single direction. Steel controls cracking, and we place joints where they will do the least harm to play. The surface is finished with a fine broom or float finish, cured and left ready for acrylic color coatings, lines and hardware.
A uniform surface with a gentle single slope drains water and still plays true.
Basketball, pickleball and tennis each have standard dimensions and run-off space.
Control joints are placed to avoid key play areas where possible.
A fine finish takes color coatings and lines, and we advise on timing.

You tell us about your site and what you want, new concrete, a repair or a refresh, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We walk the property, measure the area, check drainage, soil and access, look at any old concrete and take photos of anything of note.
We explain your options for thickness, steel, finishes and colors, sketch the layout and give you a written scope with clear timing and pricing.
We arrange for underground utilities to be located, protect the house, lawn and landscaping, remove old concrete if needed and compact a stone base.
We set forms and steel, check heights and slopes, place and finish the concrete and cut joints, with the crew on site from the first truck to the last pass.
We protect the concrete as it cures, clean up the site, walk you through when to use it and seal it, and set a reminder for your next check.
A half court is often about thirty by thirty-five feet, and a full court is larger. We plan for your space.
About one percent in one direction is common, enough to drain without affecting play.
Yes. We place sleeves or footings for poles during the pour.
Concrete usually cures for a few weeks before a color coating goes on.
