Integral color, acid stain and water-based stain all change concrete in different ways. Here is how to choose.
Concrete does not have to be gray. Integral color is mixed through the whole slab, which means chips and scratches do not show. Acid stain reacts with the concrete to create rich, mottled earth tones that look almost like marble. Water-based stains and dyes offer more colors and a more even look. Each gives a different result and works best on different surfaces.
The base concrete matters as much as the color. Stains show every mark and variation, so the slab has to be clean and well finished, and color from stain varies from place to place by design. A sealer locks in color and adds protection. We bring samples, explain what to expect and help you choose options that suit the home and the use.
