A careful look at soil, drainage, access and layout before concrete is ordered, so surprises are found on paper and not in the truck.
Most concrete problems begin before the concrete arrives. Soft soil, hidden roots, a downspout that dumps onto the future slab, utilities nobody marked and a truck that cannot reach the site all lead to cracks, extra costs or an unhappy delay. A site evaluation finds these things first. For a Nashville lot with clay, a slope or fill, the evaluation is a small cost compared with the price of redoing a slab.
We walk the site with you and look at drainage, soil firmness, grades, trees, utilities, access for trucks and pumps and the condition of nearby structures. We probe soft spots, note where water collects and check heights at the house. You receive a written summary of what we found, the risks and the steps we recommend, such as extra stone, a different slope, a drain or a different layout. If the project needs an engineer or a soil test, we say so plainly.
We probe the ground and watch how water moves so the base and slope are right.
Gates, wires, trees and slopes can block delivery, and we plan around them.
We mark where utilities and nearby buildings affect layout and digging.
You receive a clear summary of what we found and what we recommend.
