Solid concrete steps and stoops with even risers, safe treads and clean edges, built new or rebuilt from crumbling old ones.
Steps are one of the places where concrete work has to be exact. Risers that differ by even a small amount can cause a stumble, treads that are too narrow feel awkward and edges that crumble look worn and become a hazard. Front stoops and back steps also take the worst of the weather. Water collects at the corners, the freeze and thaw cycles pry at the edges and the whole assembly can settle away from the house in a Nashville clay yard.
We build steps from the ground up. We measure the total rise, divide it into equal risers and set treads deep enough to feel comfortable. Footings and a compacted base keep the steps from settling, and steel ties the pieces together. The forms are built square and plumb, the concrete is poured and finished with a non-slip texture, and the edges are rounded for durability. Where old steps are failing, we remove them and rebuild with a better base and clean details.
Even rise and run are what make steps feel natural and safe, so we measure and layout carefully.
Footings and compacted stone keep steps from sinking or pulling away from the house.
A broom finish and rounded nosing give grip and resist chipping.
We plan landings and railing posts so the steps meet comfort and safety needs.

You tell us about your site and what you want, new concrete, a repair or a refresh, and we set a visit that fits your day.
We walk the property, measure the area, check drainage, soil and access, look at any old concrete and take photos of anything of note.
We explain your options for thickness, steel, finishes and colors, sketch the layout and give you a written scope with clear timing and pricing.
We arrange for underground utilities to be located, protect the house, lawn and landscaping, remove old concrete if needed and compact a stone base.
We set forms and steel, check heights and slopes, place and finish the concrete and cut joints, with the crew on site from the first truck to the last pass.
We protect the concrete as it cures, clean up the site, walk you through when to use it and seal it, and set a reminder for your next check.
Minor damage can be patched. Steps that are cracked through or sinking usually need to be rebuilt.
It depends on the height from the ground to the door. We measure and divide the rise evenly.
